Joey Diaz is one of the best storytellers around, that's just truth, but I feel like one hour maybe isn't enough time for him to really get to the heart of the stories and elaborate on points that make them even funnier. What I mean by this is if you want to hear the craziest, wildest and funniest Joey Diaz stories around you can watch his podcast or his many appearances on The Joe Rogan podcast where he talks for hours and really lets the stories and jokes flow more effortlessly. Now that's hardly saying this a bad set because it's not, in fact there's plenty of laughs to be had and with Joey he always puts his all in which clearly shows on screen. He gets through many of his wild stories and even ventures into some topical material in between. Overall a decent special that gives you a small look at the great Joey Diaz doing his thing. 7/10.
I love Joey Diaz, unbelievably good story teller and has cracking analogies and words to describe situations in a hilarious way. It was under prepared, as lots of the stories had contradictory statements or he stumbled to find the point of the story or even the names of important elements of the story. You could see him looking up to the heavens for the next joke to come and he cut others story because he got lost...he even started with I'm anxious I think that was right. I'm sure I'll be laughing to another good Joey joke soon enough.
Not sure how this is supposed to be comedy to be honest, I've seen better comics at my local stand up club. Just telling anecdotes.....and I mean literally just telling stories with not wit, set up or intelligence is comedy now. I imagine he's only got this special because of his celebrity friends, its not what you know, it's who you know I suppose! Wasted airtime on untalented clowns.
I love Joey Coco, I think he's by far the most interesting man not just in comedy but in the world. He can break down almost any subject to its base levels and wax poetic on that like no one else. He has stories that can fill up the encyclopedia Britannia and overall he isn't perfect but he's definitely honest about it and holds nothing back. I could listen to him for days and not get tired. As a New Yorker through and through I love this man, he's tremendous and I can't say enough, watch the special you animals!
