A raw and beautiful portrait of someone dealing with his world turning upside down. I'm very honored to have been involved with this film that is not only a personal story of crisis, but a true-to-life illustration of the importance of friendship.

I enjoyed it overall. Yes the budget is obviously smaller than your typical blockbuster but the resulting emotions are raw and powerful. Certainly raising awareness of Huntington disease.

By the Grace of... is serious contender for best 2021 autofictional film alongside Bergman Island by Mia Hansen-Løve that extrapolate on the experience of being a filmmaker and how the vicissitudes of life impact the desire to make movies. Compared to the serialized autofictional works like Lena Dunham's Girls (also an Oberlin grad), Aziz Ansari's Master of None, or Jill Soloway's I Love Dick, Reid is able to succinctly weave a narrative that touches the highpoints of the struggle of disease and filmmaking. It also benefits from having better supporting actors that don't rest on celebrity laurels like the above mentioned television programs. The film lacks any aspects of escapism and instead is gutting throughout- prepare yourself before watching.

I had an incredible time working on this feature. Throughout the production stages with writer, director, and lead actor Dylan Reid, there was an overwhelming feeling that I was a part of something profound. The wealth of the film is not just in the compelling and authentic storyline, but also in the brave filmmaking. Dylan captures fictional and non-fictional moments in the production process to create a deeply sincere piece of cinema about his own experience with Huntington's disease. I hope the final cut inspires all who watch as much as producing the film inspired me.

This was a beautiful film about discovering a Huntington's disease diagnosis. It's also about the relationships with his friends as he revels his diagnosis. It was a I really enjoyed the directors point of view.

A beautiful film exploring death, time, and relationships both novel and old. It's a thoughtful exploration of difficult questions and themes and uses an effective script, colors, dream sequences, and a documentary style format to explore them. I'm not surprised it has won so many awards--this isn't your typical film nor a regurgitation of a big budget Hollywood production but a truly a refreshing way to tell one's story. I cried watching the film and look forward to seeing more from this director.

Really beautiful film - smart, New Wave-esque pacing, while also posing challenging, thoughtfully articulated questions about what we're meant to do with the time we have.

Terrible beyond imagination Please Don't give up your life watching this rubbish. Poor acting Poor story No substance whatsoever The main guy is like a lump of wood floating down a river serving no propose to the acting world .
