يرغب (أنتوني بوردين)، البالغ من العمر 19 عامًا، في أن يصبح كاتبًا، لكنه يضطر إلى العمل في أحد المطاعم خلال فصل الصيف، حيث يتلقى التدريب تحت إشراف صاحب مطعم مولود في البرازيل. وسرعان ما يجد نفسه منغمسًا في عالم فوضوي داخل المطبخ، ما يؤدي إلى تغيّر مسار حياته بالكامل.
