الطفل صاحب الخيال الواسع (توبي) يحيا مع والده المليونير الناجح، الذي أصبح والده أكثر ميلا للتجهم، وأغلق قلبه تماما بعد موت والدة (توبي)، يرسله أبوه إلى منزل جدته الصارمة لقضاء أعياد الكريسماس معها، وعندما يتزوج الطفل في المنزل يجد ألعابه القديمة التي قد تركتها له والدته، يبكي حزنا، ولكن دموع الأطفال لها مفعول السحر بشكل حقيقي؛ حيث تدب الحياة في الأرنب الدمية بشكل جميل.
