تدور أحداث الفيلم حول حامل السلاح (رولاند ديستشاين)، والذي يطوف معالم الغرب القديم بحثًا عن برج الظلام وآملًا منه في أن بلوغ هذا البرج سيحافظ على عالمه المتهاوي، لكنه في المقابل يدخل في حالة صراع مع والتر أوديم أو الرجل المتشح بالسواد.

As an avid reader of the books, this felt hollow and confusing. I couldn't finish watching this monstrosity. it wasn't the least bit faithful to the source material, which is sad because it could have been the first of a long franchise..... I'm shocked Stephen king liked and encouraged his readers to watch this garbage.
