تدور قصة الفيلم حول المرتزق "سولومون كين" الذي يعمل لدى الملكة إليزابيث؛ حيث ينفذ بعض المهام لها في إفريقيا، إلا أنه يعدل عن موقفه فور لقائه بأحد الشياطين؛ الذي يخبره أن روحه ستمكث بالجحيم بعد وفاته نتيجة أعماله؛ مما يجعله يبتعد عن العنف، لكنه سريعا ما يعود أدراجه لعلمه باختطاف إحدى الفتيات التي قتلت عائلتها نصب عينيها.
