Excellent - Great insight into the sometimes tortuous soul of a creative literary genius who could have so easily excelled at law or literacy but filled with passion for loving and living hard - he focused on songwriting. The personal battles and relationships with women and indigenous connections provided great subject matter for his songs. Insights into his references/inspiration from the bible and literacy leaders like Shakespeare surprised my children. Probably more Melbourne than Sydney in his influence he reflects our Australian passions for AFL and family times. HIs music remains timeless ( with younger kids ) and his words still resonate with the 50 somethings. Such is his talent as a writer. A great review of the art of songwriting. So enjoyable for my younger nieces/nephews who had not grown up with his music - well done ! Well worth watching again and again :) Time to find my Paul Kelly vinyls !
