The University of Chicago College’s Class Day ceremony held on June 11, 2021 honored undergraduate members of the graduating class, their achievements and their unique contributions to the UChicago community. This year’s virtual ceremony featured student speeches from Rodrigo Estrada, Emily Robb and Justine Shih, a “Well Wishes” video, a musical performance from the Dirt Red Brass Band, and a keynote address from Congressman Andy Kim, AB’04.

The Divisional Spring 2021 Graduation Ceremony recognizes graduates from the entire academic year (Summer 2020 graduates through Summer 2021 graduates). Dean Olinto will provide remarks and introduce a musical performance. The underlying composition, “Novi Scientiam,” was composed specifically for the Physical Sciences Division by Sérgio Assad and draws inspiration from a traditional University song often performed at reunions and ceremonies, “Alma Mater.” The composition is performed by PSD graduate students, who volunteered their time and talents to honor their peers. Images from the Division offering congratulations to the graduates will be featured during this musical performance. Students who have “opted in” to being recognized will be honored through an individualized slide that contains information about the student’s degree program. Dean of Students Bahareh Lampert will read the names of graduating students who opt in, at a tempo consistent with crossing the stage. All other gr
