What happens when a 12-person indie team goes head-to-head with a multi-million dollar AAA studio… and wins? On March 5th, 2026, Slay the Spire 2 and Marathon launched on the exact same day and the results couldn’t have been more different. Slay the Spire crushed Marathon in players and it shows what company is listening to their players instead of chasing trends. Mega Crit made a game their fans wanted, while Bungie has neglected their Destiny fans, to go all out for Marathon. Have you played Slay the Spire 2 or Marathon? Which one have you been enjoying? NEW HERE? Hi! My name is Shantiez and I’ve been playing video games since I was a kid. I am a fan of first person shooter games and hero shooters that get my brain thinking and my competitive drive burning (Marvel Rivals, Valorant, Apex), but on the side, I am a sucker for narrative/story driven games that immerse you into its fantastical world (Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us, Destiny). I like to cover news about the games industry, while showing praise where its deserved. #slaythespire #marathon #gaming #steam #bungie
