Shinichi Shinohara is a retired Japanese judoka, who competed in +100 kg and Open weight categories. He is 2-time World Champion and Olympic silver medalist (many believe he was robbed of gold medal in the final of 2000 Olympic games). S. Shinohara was a perfect example how good control of opponents upper body can lead to massive throws, he had tremendous O Soto Gari, Uchi Mata, he is also one of rare judokas that can count Uchi Mata Sukashi (counter to Uchi Mata) as their tokui waza (favorite technique).
