On September 22, 2017, Gilberto Ramírez defeated Jesse Hart by unanimous decision in a 12-round super middleweight bout at the Tucson Convention Center in Tucson, Arizona, USA. Ramírez retained his WBO super middleweight title after dropping Hart in the second round with a left uppercut and controlling much of the action with effective body punching and steady pressure. Hart rallied in the later rounds, but Ramírez did enough to earn the victory by scores of 115–112, 115–112, and 114–113.
