This is the story of ex - airforce-men who were arrested, tortured, jailed and dismissed by the government of Kenya's second President, the late Daniel Arap Moi on suspicion of having known or participated in the 1982 attempted coup. After battling in court for decades to have their names cleared of any wrongdoing, justice was served after they were declared innocent in 2016 and awarded compensation of millions of shillings. The court order to have the government pay them has since been ignored by the office of the Attorney General with a good number of the ex - soldiers dying of old age and diseases that can have been cured had they had money.
