Never played a game of League, but even I knew Faker was the GOAT. I wasn't ready for how hard his story would hit. Want to see me rank every Worlds Anthem? 👉 https://youtu.be/Sz9oN1AQY5Q Want to see the start of my journey, ranking every lore cinematic? 👉 https://youtu.be/Eqv37gtZ9rE Want to see me react to Necrit's "The World of Riot's MMO is Already Done"? 👉 https://youtu.be/EeaDXfckGRQ I'm a complete outsider to League of Legends (never played a game) but Faker is one of those names that reaches even people outside the scene, the way s1mple or Serral do. Everyone told me he's the greatest of all time. I believed it, but I had no idea why. So I sat down with Riot's Hall of Legends tribute to find out. I did not expect it to land the way it did. What opens as "the unkillable demon king" - this inhuman prodigy playing champions no one else dares, the guy who doesn't follow the meta because he is the meta - turns into something far more human: the losses, the tears, the maturity, the wrist injury, and a decade-long road back to the top in his home country. By the end I'd put it among the best things I've watched on YouTube, closer to a documentary than a highlight reel. This is the next step in my journey through League, from the lore cinematics and the world, through the music, and now into the esports side, which is the part I'm most excited to keep going with. And yes: I think I need to actually play this game. If there's another GOAT from any esport I should react to, drop it below. And tell me when you first started watching: how much of this journey did you get to see live?
