Before Khabib Nurmagomedov became one of the most dominant fighters in MMA history, he was just a young fighter from Dagestan trying to prove himself. Raised under the guidance of his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Khabib built his game through wrestling, Judo, Combat Sambo, relentless conditioning, and years of brutal preparation. But the road to becoming undefeated was not perfect. At just 17 years old, Khabib suffered an early competitive defeat in Combat Sambo — a moment that revealed a rare side of the future champion. Then everything started changing. From the Russian regional scene to the UFC, Khabib's opponents quickly discovered that his wrestling was only one part of the problem. He could strike. He could control the clinch. He could take elite wrestlers down. And once he got on top, the pressure never seemed to stop. This is the story of the young Khabib Nurmagomedov — before the undefeated record, before the UFC title, and before the world understood what was coming.
