Uncertainty in Climate Change: A Conversation with Climate Scientists and Economists
YCEI hosts a one-day workshop with climate scientists and economists discussing the role of uncertainty in climate change and its economic and social impacts. The workshop, which is being jointly sponsored by the center for Sustainable Climate Risk Management at Penn State, is a rare gathering of these two disciplines, and the first since the release of the IPCC's 5th Assessment Report. Speakers will explore topics such as uncertainty in the climate's sensitivity to greenhouse gases, the role of aerosols in atmospheric modeling, and the deep statistical issues inherent in projections of global warming from climate models and their implications for economic modeling of climate policies.
