تدور قصة الفيلم حول رجل بخيل مسن وأرمل، الحاج المعطي (رشيد الوالي) يرث ثروة كبيرة، وبعد أن ورث هذه الثروة من أحد أقرباءه اعتقد أولاده أنهم سيعشون حياة البذخ، لكن تصرفات الحاج المعطي لن تتغير.
