Most Slay the Spire 2 players aren't losing because they don't know the cards. They're losing because they're just playing cards — reacting turn by turn with no thread connecting their decisions. In this guide I break down the one thing that separates good players from great ones: having a plan. I'll walk you through a three level framework for thinking about every fight: Your Build — who are you this run, and what are you trying to do? Your Deck — what's left in your draw pile, and what does that tell you? Your Hand — can you just end this fight right now? Once you understand all three levels and how they connect, every turn decision gets clearer. If you haven't seen my first video on why you lose in Slay the Spire 2, check that out too — this one goes deeper on the turn by turn decisions that video didn't cover. https://youtu.be/zCh7P7O6NqM?si=XLxySSrlLMPu4DZ1 Go Check out AZOTH, the game I'm developing! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3637620/Azoth/ 00:00 Intro 00:21 Efficiency 03:02 Make a Damage Plan 05:28 Make a Block Plan 07:06 Defensive In Game Example 10:10 Offensive In Game Example 16:15 Strategy Multipliers 17:49 The Fight 18:49 Dying in Regular Combats? 19:33 Every Fight Checklist 21:41 Enemy Mechanics 23:34 Enemy Targeting Priority 25:11 Per Turn Checklist 26:15 Tip for Easy Practice Runs
