Every week I see the same argument: “Just add PvE mode.” It sounds simple. It isn’t. Arc Raiders is not just a PvE game with PvP added on top. The core of the game is uncertainty: Can I trust this player? Will they help me? Will they betray me? Should I shoot first? That tension creates the stories. In this video, I break down why a PvE-only mode would affect far more than combat: loot, rewards, matchmaking, player behavior, AI complexity, social risk, and the entire extraction loop. This is not a “PvE players are bad” video. It’s a game design breakdown of why the request makes sense emotionally, but becomes much harder when you look at the actual systems. Welcome to Spaceport Security. Today: PvE only? No.
