Many fans think of either Hogan or The Warrior when they think of the WWF, two legitimate household names who garnered a massive fan following during the glory days of the World Wrestling Federation. Hulk Hogan had been the WWF's number 1 superstar since making his way to the company in the early to mid 80s. Towards the end of the decade, a new superstar was capturing the imagination of fans across the world, and his name was The Ultimate Warrior. While Randy Savage had gained a considerable fan following in 1988, the Warrior's popularity was so huge that it matched Hulk Hogan in terms of fan support. The decision was made then to have the WWF's 2 top babyface competitors square off in a match at WrestleMania. Billed as "The Ultimate Challenge", Hulk Hogan put his WWF title on the line against The Ultimate Warrior, a man who also put his Intercontinental championship up for grabs in the very same match.
