Music has a beautiful way of traveling across cultures and languages. This piece is my own little mashup of two beloved choruses: “Salelaka Mokonzi” (Lingala from Congo) and “Chinemerem” (a popular Igbo chorus). I first saw the amazing vibe from the St. John Bosco Choir, Aba, and it inspired me to create my own version. So I decided to blend the Lingala praise with the Igbo worship… two languages, one spirit of gratitude. Today I’m sharing our videos side by side. Different expressions, same heartbeat of praise.
