Most people say the high guard doesn't work in 4oz gloves... but Jon Haggerty proves it's not that simple. In this film study, I break down how Haggerty used the high guard to land devastating counter left hooks against Lobo—but also how the same position nearly got him stopped in Round 1. If you want to understand when the high guard works, when it fails, and how elite strikers adapt it for small gloves, this breakdown is for you. Let me know in the comments: Would you trust a high guard in 4oz gloves? If you enjoy this style of breakdown, let me know in the comments which fights you’d like to see next.
