Stephan Hawkes plays through the new Bad Cat Ocelot, a portable boutique amplifier that perfectly bridges the gap between classic tube tone and modern studio technology. In this Bad Cat Ocelot review, we explore why this compact amp is a game-changer for both gigging musicians and home studio owners. Featuring a built-in IR loader from TwoNotes Audio Engineering, you can plug this amp directly into your audio interface or send it straight to the Front of House (FOH) for massive, studio-quality sound without lugging around a heavy 4x12 cab. But it’s not just about the tech—this amp brings the heat. Stephan walks through the incredibly responsive EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble, and Presence), and demonstrates the brilliant footswitch system. With independent boosts for both the Clean and Overdrive channels, the Bad Cat Ocelot effectively gives you 4 distinct, highly usable channels—from crystal clean to high-gain distortion—all with a single tap of your foot. Whether you are miking it up at a massive venue or running direct at a coffee shop, the Bad Cat Ocelot proves that you don't have to sacrifice true boutique tone for modern portability.
