The ending of the match was filled with drama when neither man scored a pinfall after the time had expired, however the match began again with Gorilla Monsoon informing the competitors that there must be a winner. Also at the event "Rowdy" Roddy Piper took on Goldust in a Hollywood Backlot Brawl, Big Daddy Cool Diesel battled The Undertaker, and Stone Cold Steve Austin made his WrestleMania debut in a match against Savio Vega. WrestleMania 12 also featured the return of the Ultimate Warrior when he squashed Hunter Hearst Helmsley in seconds.
