سارة هي رائدة فضاء فرنسية تتدرب في وكالة الفضاء الأوروبية في كولونيا. هي المرأة الوحيدة في البرنامج الشاق. تعيش وحدها مع ابنتها ستيلا البالغة من العمر سبع سنوات. تشعر سارة بالذنب لأنها لا تستطيع قضاء المزيد من الوقت مع طفلها. حبها طاغٍ ومقلق. عندما يتم اختيار `` سارة '' للانضمام إلى طاقم مهمة فضائية لمدة عام تسمى Proxima ، يحدث فوضى في العلاقة بين الأم وابنتها.
