He was a muay femeu (technical boxer) who used lots of angular movement and had very quick feet. Poot won the 122lbs Lumpinee belt at the age of 19 and went on to record 65 victories from 80 contests. Some of his most notable wins include Kongdej Lukbangplasroi, Nate Saknarong, Saensak Muangsurin, Tanomjit Sukothai, Chuchai Loogpanjama, Weechit Lukbangprasoi, Adul Gaitara, Faprathan Singthanonongsak, Faypha Therapat and Meuangchon Jiraphan.
