In 1982, Steven Spielberg's seventh feature film, "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" was released. Its director had not imagined it as a commercial film, but as an intimate work, inspired by his own wounds, telling the story of a young boy's extraordinary friendship with a creature as lost as himself.
