Austin feuds briefly with Dude Love before spending the rest of the year feuding with The Undertaker, and things get interesting when Undertaker's relationship with Kane starts to evolve as the year progresses. Also in 1998 D-Generation X was completely revamped with Triple H taking over as leader, Sable continued to rise in popularity (to the detriment of Marc Mero), Mankind was involved in one of the most memorable Cell matches in WWE history, and The Rock became a main event player when he won the WWF Championship at Survivor Series.
