This time around there's probably less plot in there, and it loses some charm because I've seen it all before. There's isn't really a coming-to-age theme anymore, and pretty much all the characters seem way more distant than they used to be. But it's still funny as hell. The first one was so well-written this sequel just works by following in the slipstream. All they really did was change the location, and it's so damn simple it actually does the trick. The new sitcom-like embarrassing situations are really top notch, the jokes are probably as good as they were in the original. That scene with the super-glue is just awesome on so many levels. The only problem is just that it doesn't really go anywhere. They do bring in a party to have a point to work up to, but really, they've already lost their virginity, they can't do that again. So, what happens? Their vacation is over and they head home, which is a bit less exciting. It's still among the best (teen) comedies around though.
