The graphics looked great and caught my eye however, following the trailer I concluded, this script won't make sense. The story appeared flat, really not strong - yes I got this from the trailer. Fast forward 12months, a friend convinced me to watch it, BIG mistake. The entire script is what I would call of a surface approach, no bother for it to be analytical, to delve deeper into what potentially could have been very interesting, instead we were served about 90mins of a predictive story, fantasy, mills&boon type story. No depth to how a fully grown man who literally came out of a marriage with a child would proceed to have physical relations and then fall in love with 2 grown women. The premise could have been better, some development and background to indicate why he was so ready to walk out of a commitment, and jump into another one. Two grown women and a grown man who, so quickly are able to fall in love with no background into the characters or relationship development, I know older teens who apply more responsible criticism prior to labelling a relationship. And then we have a woman with stage 2 cancer progressing so well into a final pregnancy trimester, no change to her physical self... etc. Etc.. I hardly ever leave reviews, maybe 1 every few years but this was that bad. I was that pained by the waste of raw talent and loss of potential that I was moved to write a review. I'm gutted, I am a fan of the main characters, of Mo Abudu, and I'm just disappointed. Not for me, and perhaps, not for those who care for a decent story lines. The only positives: the film technicalities were on point, cinematography and exposure to Nigerian art culture Next time, I'll stick to my instincts.
