Because McMahon allowed Punk to leave the company with the WWE Championship Belt the board had no choice but to remove McMahon from power and put Triple H in charge. Triple H (again in storyline) was instrumental in bringing CM Punk back to WWE but Punk wasn't prepared to get friendly with the COO. After Kevin Nash attacked Punk at SummerSlam and cost him the WWE Championship Punk immediately blamed Triple H, and a strange storyline developed including Nash, Punk, Hunter, John Laurinaitis and a mystery text message.
