تدور أحداث الفيلم حول كيفين الصبي ذو الثمانية أعوام الذي يتعلم كيفية الدفاع عن نفسه بعدما تنساه أسرته في المنزل عن طريق الخطأ وترحل لقضاء إجازة عيد الميلاد المجيد في فرنسا، حيث يحاول اثنين من اللصوص الأغبياء اقتحام المنزل ولكنه وحده يحاول التصدي لهم.
