تدور قصة الفيلم عن حكاية فرنسية تتحدث عن مخلوق غامض يعيش كالحيوانات المفترسة في الغابة ويتعرض لأهالي الريف ناشراً الذعر بينهم، وتدور الأحداث في القرن الثامن عشر الميلادي؛ مما يجعل البطل الفرنسي يتعاون مع أصدقاء الأمريكيين بعد موت العديدين، للتحقيق في هذا الأمر ومواجهة الأسطورة والوحش القاتل.
